Reflections
October 15, 2012 · 6:26 pm
I always wanted to write a blog that I could stick with for more than a few weeks before a different idea took over. Here I might reflect on wandering by a canal in Bruges while thinking about what it means to be lost. I might recall an episode where Buffy the vampire slayer was lost and bring in a character from Thomas Hardy. You never know what might happen when three roads meet in a wood: travel, high culture and low culture, dear reader...
Bruges-la-Morte - Georges Rodenbach (translation)
The High Mountains of Portugal - Yann Martel
A Place Apart - Dervla Murphy (Ireland)
The Complete Walker - Colin Fletcher
The Art of Walking - Kari Gale (Camino de Santiago)
The Wander Society - Keri Smith
Wild - Cheryl Strayed
