Merging images

I took my image of the Japanese beach flotsam and put the duck image over the top of it, with the centre of the duck cut out, making the duck effectively ‘hollow’. Then I played with the opacity of the two images, working out what combination made the strongest and most readable image. Next I made all kinds of other adjustments, such as levels and colour.
